Tweed Dreams! The wonderful collection by Catriona Hanly

I’ve always enjoyed supporting Irish designers….we have incredible talent in this country….many of whom have gone international with success all over the globe.  One of the latest on the design scene in Ireland is Catriona Hanly who has already, in under three years,  got herself a very respectful following not only on home shores but  in the U.K. and parts of Europe.  I’ve know Catriona for over ten years now and like myself she is mildly obsessed when it comes to fashion. Also, like myself, she has been designing clothes for herself for years. I am delighted that she decided…

St Patricks Day Celebrations VIP style!

There is no doubt about it, if it wasn’t for the St Patricks Day festival Committee and Marks and Spencer showing us such a good time every year and allowing us to do the St Patricks Day parade VIP style, my daughters would not be quite as patriotic!  Champagne breakfast (admittedly, that’s more about me!), escort to the GPO avoiding all crowds, seats under a sheltered canopy (yes, I did say SEATS! None of this shoved up against a barrier and standing in the cold for hours like in MY day as one of 7 children) And being seated beside…

London Fashion Week – Lovely!

It was my first time to do London fashion week as a guest/celebrity in the frow.  I was also commissioned to write up an article by two International publications – one US and one UK – so there was no major pressure. Any other time I’ve attended this fashion frenzy I’ve been in the media area, side or end of catwalk, pressed up against a red rope with the rest of the press, vying for interviews with designers, celebrity attendees and models. This time round with no major deadlines, tape time to fill or other demands I could just sit…

Keane On Style receives the warmest of Donegal welcomes

And here are the pics to prove it….   I have to start by saying a huge thanks to all the staff at Harvey’s Point who went beyond the call of duty to make us all feel comfortable and relaxed.  They spoilt us actually!  Thanks to the adorable gentleman that is Noel Cunningham and my skincare expert Peggy Stringer who made it happen. The food was way beyond my expectations and I really couldn’t have hosted the 3 and a half hour long show without the help of Noel Cunningham on stage and Sheila Russell behind the scenes. Thanks too…

Irish Tatler Women Of The Year Awards

It is my ABSOLUTE favourite event of the year – The Irish Tatler Women Of The a Year awards – when extraordinary women are honoured and celebrated for doing extraordinary things. A night when women from all walks of life and all industries come together to congratulate and support each other… Not in a bra-burning, man-hating, over-feminist, sexist way, no on the contrary – It is a Norah Casey/Harmonia event after all – and anyone who knows Norah knows she loves her friends of the opposite sex – as she said herself  “my dad was one, my beautiful husband Richard…

IFTA News

It has always courted controversy but I have always enjoyed the IFTA’s.  For me it’s a night of celebration – celebrating the remarkable talent we have working in the television and film industry in Ireland and abroad – meeting up with my peers and dressing up for the cameras.  Actually, apart from the fun part of designing a dress with one of Ireland’s top designers and getting ‘styled to within an inch of my life’ the ‘working the red carpet’ bit still gets to me.  There is no other event in town that does a red carpet like the IFTA’s.…

Feeling “Divine” in Caroline Mathews

The launch of Cork Fashion Week in Ballymaloe House was not only a fabulous day out with yummy food, fab fashion and a great Awards ceremony it was also an opportunity for me to meet some amazing Cork ladies (love your style girls!) and new creative talent. I left the event laden down with business cards from some incredible new discoveries for my #KeaneOnStyle events. I can’t wait to share them with you – God we are a talented bunch creatively! One of those designers was Caroline Mathews. I was blown away by her collection. And I wasn’t the only…
