‘We should be educated about perimenopause in our 30s’

Here is an interview I did for Image magazine. Written by Eva Hall, photos by Barry McCall We go through five stages of hormones in our lives, so why are we so embarrassed about the last one, asks Lorraine Keane, who has been taking perimenopausal supplements for years now. Lorraine Keane was delighted to have been asked to be the face of a women’s health supplement. But she was taken aback when she heard the word ‘menopause’. Lorraine, a glamorous mum-of-two who has had a successful career as a TV reporter and presenter, likes to keep busy. “I want to…

So when Peter and I realised that our girls were fast-approaching the age when they might be too old to appreciate the magic of Disney, or more importantly the company of their parents on holiday, we decided to go for the family holiday of a lifetime to Florida. We kept the trip as a surprise until the last minute (leaving for Dublin airport). Their reaction…

Let’s Talk Hormones

Here’s something I’m really passionate about. Too many of us just aren’t aware of the impact our hormones have on our physical and mental health. This is something that effects all women, young girls, from the age of puberty onwards and knowledge is key. I have chaired and spoken at many conferences on women’s health and have learnt so much from wonderful women like Dr Mary Ryan (pictured above) a leading endocrinologist. There is a free hormone guide available on the Cleanmarine website (Cleanmarine are an Irish company who produce natural Omega 3 and vitamin blends to help to regulate…

Fashion Relief 2019

Once again I’m teaming up with Oxfam Ireland for FASHION RELIEF. In May we raised an incredible €60,000 for those suffering from extreme hunger at our 2018 event in the RDS, where the public bagged bargains from the wardrobes of their favourite celebs, designers and boutiques. The good news is that that we’re doing it again in 2019 – and we’re taking the show on the road, with events in Cork, Dublin and Galway! The dates for Fashion Relief 2019: Sunday 17th Feb 2019 | City Hall Cork Sunday 10th March 2019 | RDS Dublin 5th, 6th, 7th April 2019 |…
