Following in the footsteps of Jen!

20th November 2016 Delaying The Signs of Ageing with Ultherapy  I suppose you could say I am reasonably happy with my appearance – I know how to make the most of myself.  Let’s face it, being in the public eye for almost two decades means I have learned lots of ‘tricks of the trade’ when it comes to beauty products, treatments and make-up. (I’ve have been sharing those little ‘tips & secrets’ with you at my ‘Keane On Style’ events all over the country).  However, over the last couple of years I have noticed that my skin is just getting…

A Busy Week….

What a week that was! It started with a lovely article in the Sunday Independent Life Magazine where I’d been asked to list the ‘Loves Of My Life’ – a tough one to do, but I think I managed it ok. Then I did a photocall for the Buy My Dress campaign for Down Syndrome Ireland, a tv interview in RTE for Keane On Style with Daithi and Maura on the Today show, a product launch for Easilocks Hair at the Cliff Townhouse with Vogue Williams and Amanda Brunker, a shoot for the cover of Galway Now magazine, I hosted…

Ile de Ré, France – Chic et Fantastique!

I have always loved visiting France, ever since my ‘Tante Lizzie’ introduced me to her Parisian home in the late eighties. She was French correspondent for the BBC and was the first person to tell me about Ile de Ré – many, many people have told me about it since.  It has taken me this long to finally visit it, but it was well worth the wait. We decided to take the car on the Stenaline ferry (from Rosslare), as we’d heard too many horror stories of holidays ruined by the recurring French Air Traffic Controllers’ summertime strikes (more than 50…

Keane On Upstyling!

Ok, so couture might be pushing it a little but the pieces I have up styled for this feature with the help of Zip Yard in Dun Laoghaire are one-off pieces. Never underestimate the power of a good seamstress or alterations person.  Believe me, when you find one, hold on to her/him. They are worth their weight in gold. I love the reassurance of knowing no-one else will be wearing the same as me, so up-styling is my new hobby. I love shopping in Charity shops, Second hand shops, Vintage shops or cheap online websites and making alterations to create…

5 Steps to My Best Skin Ever!

You know by now I am a beauty product junkie so you can trust I have ‘tried & tested’ most of the skincare ranges on the market. What you may NOT know (unless you have attended one of my ‘Keane On Style’ events where we ‘tell-all’ and ‘share all’ beauty secrets) is I have suffered with my skin throughout my life and in particular in the last ten years. I am told I have Adult Acne (seriously, as if ageing wasn’t bad enough!) and Rosacea (prone to broken veins, hard red lumps and high colour on my cheeks and nose –…

Hair to Dyson For!

My little sisters and I fooling around at Dylan Bradshaw during the launch of the new Dyson supersonic Hair dryer, available exclusively at Arnotts this Summer. The Verdict: Fantastic! 5 Stars. Why?: It’s small and light, really powerful (the most powerful hair dryer on the market – Dyson invested €65million achieving this) so it dries you hair in half the time….and I have a lot of hair so this is a major consideration. Results: Shinier, Silky Smooth hair in half the time. Price:  Not for the faint-hearted €399 but on the basis that I blow dry my hair…

Hugh Jackman – A Dream Come True

I’m just home from a screening of Hugh Jackman’s ‘Dukale’s Dream’ and I urge to go and see it or Watch it online. It was made in association the wonderful World Vision charity and highlights the importance of supporting Fair Trade products.   It’s available to rent/buy more Amazon and is something you can watch with the kids (our girls, 9 and 12, loved it). For more info on World Vision click here Oh, and a photo of Hugh, just because….

The Lexus Irish Fashion Collective

A once in a lifetime opportunity for dedicated followers of fashion was witnessed on the Friday of the May bank holiday weekend, when the Lexus Irish Fashion Collective took place in the historic venue of Trinity College Dublin.   Renowned Irish fashion designers, including Philip Treacy, showcased their collections in aid of dementia care in Saint Joseph’s Shankill. I was delighted to MC and the show was produced by the incredible Catherine Condell and featured Ireland’s leading models. The Dean Dublin sponsored the reception and guests received a selection of gifts including a dermalogica gift pack from Brown Cow Beauty Boutiques, a Purcell and…
