To say I was blown away by the talent at Showcase Ireland is an underestimate and it is the Irish designers and artisans who have the most to be proud of. Without bias (honestly) they were by far the best. I have always said we are a seriously talented bunch – that is why I have always chosen to wear Irish when I can. I have reported on and worked with many wonderfully talented Irish designers over the course of my career and in the last year got to share some of those designers with you on my Keane On Style events. Well today I discovered some more that I cannot wait to share with you. I spent 3 glorious hours perusing the collections in the RDS – not enough time but Sunday dinner beckoned. I look forward to heading back on Wednesday before the exhibition closes. Well done to all involved, to Showcase Ireland, to those who put so much work and creativity into their stands (see the Donegal peat and grass at the Fishermen Out Of Ireland stand and the knitted decor, chandeliers and photo frames in Ireland’s Eye Knitwear – incredible!) and hats off to Enterprise Ireland and local enterprise offices for supporting so many talented small businesses. Without your support they couldn’t afford to show their wares…or wears. Thank you!
